IPL 2021 Auction Player List: The wait is finally over. The Indian Premier League governing council has finally published the full list of players to be auctioned for the IPL 2021 auction. In total 292 players including top Indian stars and top International players will go under the hammer in the event will take place on 18^th February at Chennai. With teams looking to fill their remaining gaps ahead of IPL 2021, many of these players are expected to grab hefty contracts.

Initially 1114 cricketers from all cricketing countries registered themselves for the much-awaited IPL 2021 Auction. From that list, the eight franchises shortlisted their preferred 292 names. This includes 164 Indian players, 125 overseas players and 3 players from associate nations. These many players will go under the hammer of February 18^th in the mini-IPL auction that will take place in Chennai.

Top ten players have shortlisted themselves in the highest bracket of 2 Cr. Harbhajan, Kedar Jadhav, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Jason Roy & Mark Wood are the 10 players who have placed themselves in the top bracket.

In the second highest bracket of 1.5 Cr, there are 12 prominent overseas stars- Alex Hales, Alex Carey, Dawid Malan, Morne Morkel, Gregory Lewis, David Willey, Tom Curran, Shaun Marsh, Adil Rashid, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Jhye Richardson and Nathan Coulter-Nile.

Starc, Root and Rahim pulls out of IPL Auction 2021

Despite IPL being the highest profile T20 tournament in the world, some of the top international stars like Mitchell Starc, Mushfiqur Rahim and Joe Root have decided to stay away from the auction pool. Out of these, Starc is the biggest surprise. Considering his capabilities and the demand for the death bowlers in this auction, he was almost certain to go beyond the 10 Cr mark. But Starc, like most of the other seasons, have decided to stay away from the lucrative league to prep himself up for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Amongst the domestic players Umesh Yadav, Hanuma Vihari, Shivam Dube etc are some of the prominent names. Mohammad Azharuddeen, Shahrukh Khan and Lukman Meriwala, who had a great SMAT 2021, are also expected to fetch big sums of money.
