The Rajasthan Royals have came up with a big announcement that their overseas player Shimron Hetmyer has left the IPL 2022 bio-bubble and travelled back to Guyana early morning today for the imminent birth of his first child. However, there is still no clear update on when he will return to resume his services for the remainder of the tournament. Also, Hetmyer will have to undergo a mandatory quarantine of three days upon re-entering the RR bio-bubble in accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It is very much unlikely that the left-hander will be available for selection during Rajasthan Royals’ next match against Delhi Capitals on 11 May at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai.

“Shimron Hetmyer has travelled back to Guyana early morning today for the imminent birth of his first child, but he’ll be back soon,” said an official statement from Rajasthan Royals.
