Former Indian cricketer and legend Sachin Tendulkar was present at Lord’s cricket ground to ring the bell to signify the onset of the second test series of the five-match Pataudi trophy between England and India.

After facing the first defeat at Birmingham by 31 runs, the Indian squad have sweated at nets and worked hard on their cricketing skills. Now the Indian team seems to be all ready and confident to perform well and emerge victorious. Back in 2014, they had played very smartly and showed great skills and hence won the match. Ajinkya Rahane, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Ishant Sharma had performed really well in the tour.

However, due to continuous rain and a wet outfield, the second Test match could not be started and the first day was called off, the second day also got washed off.

The official Lord’s Twitter account posted a new video of Sachin Tendulkar. In the video, Tendulkar was seen speaking about the current Indian team and its captain Virat Kohli.

Tendulkar described Kohli as being very hungry for scoring runs and guiding the team to victory. He said, “I think he is hungry to score runs and is never satisfied. He is extremely expressive, exuberant, he is leading by example.”

When asked about the team performance, he remarked, “I think the team that he is leading is a promising team. We have a nice blend of senior cricketers like Rohit Sharma, Shikhar, and all these guys, they’ve been around now for almost ten years. Then you have youngsters like Kuldeep Yadav and Bumrah, who have been around for two-three years. so, it’s a nice combination of both.”
