Jadeja has matured a lot: Indian skipper

Ravindra Jadeja had a wonderful couple of months in international cricket. The left-arm spinner made a thumping comeback in Test cricket and in ODI cricket and has also impressed the Indian skipper Virat Kohli who believes that Jadeja is now matured a lot and brings much-needed balance into the team.
Kohli praises Jadeja for his recent performances
The Indian captain lauded praise on the left-arm spinner in the post-match press conference after the 5th ODI against Windies. He said that he spinner has obviously gone back and worked quite a bit, especially in white-ball cricket to come back and perform like this.
He admitted that as a bowler you are going to have a one-off game like Vizag where people are going to go after you. But he cleared that apart from that, the Indian spinner has been very good. Virat explained that the Indian cricketer has been smart about what he wants to do with the field.
Speaking about Jadeja’s fielding, the Indian skipper revealed that there have been no questions about his ability and with the bat and ball he has matured a lot now and brings balance to any side.

At the same time, Kohli spoke about India’s team balance and Jadeja’s role. He feels that if Hardik is fit, Kedar becomes a spin option as well and it gives four seaming options, along with Kedar and one more spinner.

But Kohli feels the team might need one more spin option and that’s when Jadeja becomes the key there with the team balance. In the Test matches as well, Kohli thinks the spinner batted and bowled very well.
Jadeja’s meteoric rise in 2018
After spending a year in exile, the spinner made a roaring comeback in 2018. He scored a gritty knock of 86 not out and claimed seven wickets in the 5th Test against England and then produced his maiden Test hundred against Windies along with picking seven wickets.
He was effective in the Asia Cup and in the ODI series against Windies as well and has claimed 14 wickets in 8 ODIs in 2018.
