West Indies captain Jason Holder has revealed his team’s gameplan against India for the first Test. The pace bowler said that as a team they have to be patient but at the same time looking to score is evident and should be one of their main gameplans.

The West Indies skipper was speaking with the media ahead of the first Test that begins on October 04 at Rajkot. He explained that whenever you play any game of cricket, you have to be positive and get runs on the board. He noted that one has to have a clear gameplan about how they will go about facing the Indian attack.

A thing of joy and pride to play Test cricket: Holder

At the same time, the right-arm fast bowler gave his opinion on Test cricket. He said that there is been a craze that Test cricket is dead around the world. But he pointed out that if you have young players coming through such as the ones in the Caribbean who are really looking forward and really want to play a Test match for West Indies, then he is sure that Test cricket will be here for a very long time.

Holder said that personally for him it’s the best format. He added that it’s a test of character and to be successful on this stage, it says a lot of your character and it says a lot about yourself as a person.
