Jos Buttler IPL Hundred: In a massive development, Rajasthan Royals (RR) explosive opening batsman Jos Buttler has smacked the first hundred of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season in the ongoing match against Mumbai Indians at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. This is the second match this year for the Rajasthan Royals after they handed a convincing 61-run defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening game.

After losing the toss and being put in to bat first, Jos Buttler looked to attack the Mumbai Indians bowlers right from the word go. The right-hander smashed a total of 26 runs in a single over off Basil Thampi that included as many as three sixes. Buttler composed a wonderful innings of 100 runs off just 68 balls that included a total of 11 fours and 5 sixes to help Rajasthan Royals finish with a pretty challenging total of 193 for 8 in their 20 overs.
This is the second hundred in the history of the Indian Premier League for Jos Buttler and he became the 9th overseas batsman to score atleast 2 or more hundreds in the tournament. Universe Boss Chris Gayle is on top of the table with a total of 6 centuries in the IPL history. The Aussie pair of David Warner and Shane Watson have hit 4 hundreds each while AB de Villiers has crossed the three figure mark thrice.

On the back of Jos Buttler’s stupendous century innings and entertaining cameos from both Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer have helped Rajasthan Royals reach an imposing first innings score of 193 runs. Hetmyer smacked 35 runs off only 14 balls while Samson also scored 30 runs.

For the Mumbai Indians, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was just phenomenal with the ball taking three crucial wickets and giving away just 17 runs in his quota of four overs.
