Jozi Stars lose superstar Windies batsman for remaining MSL T20

Jozi Stars, the franchise in Mzansi Super League will miss the services of superstar Windies batsman Chris Gayle as he will be flying back to home due to family-related issues.

 

Gayle’s unimpressive outing with Jozi Stars

The left-hand Windies batsman played four matches for Stars in the MSL but failed to make an impact. In his first match, he scored 23 runs and then in the remaining three games he could manage only 20 runs.

After the first match, he went to the United Arab Emirates to play the T10 league and then came back and played three more games.

The Windies batsman will be returning home due to some family related issues.

 

Not the way I wanted to end BUT FAMILY NUMBER ONE PRIORITY: Gayle

The opening batsman said that he has made some great memories and it was a pleasure to be a part of this new T20 league.

He admitted that it is unfortunate that he has to leave and it is not the way he wanted this to end. At the same time, he made it clear that he has a family matter and family is his number one priority.’

He noted that he would like to thank Cricket South Africa and the Jozi Stars. He said that it is always nice to come back and play some cricket in South Africa internationally with the Lions, and now with the Stars.

He has featured an impressive 357 T20 games and has amassed more than 12000 runs at an average of 39.91 The Windies batsman also has 21 centuries in T20 cricket which reflects his prolific run-scoring ability.
