KAR vs MUL: In a massive breaking news, Karachi Kings premier left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir has been ruled out of the first game of Pakistan Super League T20 2022 against Multan Sultans. The tournament opener is scheduled to be played on 27 January, 2022 (Thursday) at the National Stadium in Karachi. Another big update is that Karachi Kings’ Imad Wasim has also tested positive for Covid-19.
Popular Pakistani journalist Saj Sadiq recently posted on Twitter that the Multan Sultan will miss the services of their premier fast bowler Mohammad Amir as he will not be available for the first game due to a side strain injury. This means that both Imad and Amir will not be available for this first few matches of the PSL 2022 and that is a massive blow for the Karachi Kings. Also, Karachi Kings overseas player Jordan Thompson has contracted COVID-19. According to the PSL Covid-19 protocols, both Imad and Thompson will now have to undergo seven days of mandatory quarantine.
Quetta Gladiators veteran all-rounder Shahid Afridi has too informed that he has tested positive for Covid-19 but the good news is that he is showing no symptoms at all and will be returning to play his last edition of the Pakistan Super League T20 very soon. Unfortunately, there have been a number of casualties right before the start of PSL 2022 including Peshawar Zalmi left-arm speedster Wahab Riaz and batsman Haider Ali who are also placed into self isolation after contracting the virus. The trio of Wahab, Haider and Afridi will not be available for the second game of the T20 tournament between Peshawar Zalmi and the Quetta Gladiators scheduled to begin on 28 January, 2022 (Friday) at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The Pakistan Super League T20 2022 has already witnessed some disappointing hindrances as earlier as many as eight personnel including a few players tested positive for Covid and then fire bloke out at the National Stadium in Karachi on 26 January (Wednesday).
