Kareena Kapoor Khan shares the name of her favourite cricketer

Kareena Kapoor Khan recently completed two glorious decades in the bollywood industry. She started her acting journey with the film ‘Refugee’ in the year 2000. Wishes were pouring in from her fans and her co-stars on social media for the occasion.

When it comes to Cricket, Kareena Kapoor Khan is no stranger to the game. Her father-in-law was a popular former Indian cricketer and captain. She also wants her son to grow up and become a professional cricketer to continue the traditions of ‘Pataudi’. Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan can be regularly spotted at cricket stadiums and they are loyal Mumbai Indians supporters.

Kareena Kapoor Khan picks her favourite cricketer

In a question-answer session with fans on social media, Kareena Kapoor was put in the hot seat regarding some of her choices. She was asked about her favourite cricketer over the years. Generally, people from her generation would pick Sachin Tendulkar over any other players. But Kareena Kapoor has Virat Kohli as her favourite, here is what she had to say about Virat Kohli in an interview:

I love the way Virat plays. He is my favourite. Isn’t he already the next Sachin Tendulkar? After all, he’s the reason why we are winning so many matches in succession.

Virat Kohli – the next Sachin Tendulkar?

As Kareena said, fans have already started the comparisons between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Sachin Tendulkar is arguably the greatest player ever to play the game but if we look at the stats of Virat Kohli, one can surely say that he is well on his way to achieve greatness. Virat Kohli has scored 43 ODI tons as of now and he is only second to Sachin who has 49 ODI centuries. When it comes to the run scoring charts, Virat has close to 12k ODI runs with a minimum of 4-5 years of cricket remaining in him. If we include his captaincy skills in the mix, he is currently leading team India in all three formats successfully for last 4 years. Surely, Virat Kohli is on the paths of becoming one of all-time greats of the game.
