Kohli will play till the age of 40 feels his childhood coach

Rajkumar Sharma who coached the Indian skipper Virat Kohli in his childhood days is confident that Kohli will play until the age of forty. He also believes that the Indian captain has nothing to worry about injuries.

Virat’s statement that led to speculations of his early retirement 

During the post-match presentation in the first ODI against Windies, the Indian right-hand batsman stated that he has few years left in his career to enjoy this sport.

This statement gave rise to several speculations and many fans and cricket analysts felt that the Indian captain might hang his boots sooner than later due to the injuries he has faced in the recent past.

Sharma believes Virat is not retiring early 

While speaking with a news portal Sharma was asked about Kohli’s statement. However, Sharma brushed aside the speculations and said that he doesn’t think Kohli wanted to say a few years.

He asked everyone to to stay assured and stated that everyone will see the right-hand batsman playing for India for the next 10 years.

Sharma is confident that Virat will not retire before the age of 40 as according to Sharma, Kohli’s appetite to make runs will not satiate before that.

Kohli will play for next five to seven years: Sharma

He further explained what Virat intended to say in the post-match presentation. He made it clear that Kohli did not want to say that he is retiring soon. Sharma explained that Kohli wanted to say that he has 5-7 years left to play the game.

He added that Virat is not going anywhere for the next 10 years as there is no injury concern to him.

The Indian captain suffered an injury to his back in the England Test series and had rested during the Asia Cup. He is currently one of the few Indian players who plays in all three formats and hence has considerable workload.
