Imran Tahir to miss Legends Cricket T20: In a big breaking news, star leg-spinner Imran Tahir will not be taking further part in the inaugural Legends League Cricket T20 tournament. Tahir was playing for the World Giants in the exciting Legends Cricket T20 having scored a blazing match-winning half-century the other night against the India Maharajas. The T20 tournament which comprises of some legendary cricketing names is currently being played at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Muscat, Oman.
Former South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir will not be available for the remainder of the Legends League Cricket T20 as he will now be travelling to Pakistan in order to take part in the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) scheduled to begin from 27 January. Tahir has decided to quarantine early in Pakistan before the start of the T20 tournament where he will be playing for the Multan Sultans. The 42-year-old leggie was retained by the Multan Sultans for PSL 2022. This development comes after Imran Tahir’s match-winning heroics with the bat in the amazing 3-wicket victory for the World Giants over the India Maharajas.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, the India Maharajas posted a massive first innings total of 209 for 3 on the back of a stunning innings played by Naman Ojha notching up 140 runs off only 69 balls that included 15 fours and 9 sixes. India Maharajas captain Mohammad Kaif too scored a fine unbeaten knock of 53 runs.
In reply, the World Giants did not had the best of starts and they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. However, Kevin Pietersen played an important innings of 53 runs off 27 balls. But towards the end, Imran Tahir absolutely stole the show while smashing some stylish strokes with the bat. Tahir contributed with a match-winning knock of 52 runs off just 19 balls that consisted of 5 sixes and 3 fours that helped the World Giants successfully chase down the total with three balls to spare.
