Lowest Total in Test – The red ball format has been rated quite high due to the patience, skills and fitness required by the players. Although T20 has become popular, but its the test match that demands the player to be best for entire duration of 5 days of test match.

The New Zealand team has scored the lowest total of 26 runs in test match against England in 1955 at Auckland.
The South Africa team has registered two totals of 30 in 1896 and 1924 against England. While they are next on the list as well with totals of 35 and 36 against England and Australia in 1899 and 1932 respectively.
The Australian team were dismissed for a score of 36 in 1902 against England at Birmingham.
The Indian team is at 7th on the list, when they were dismissed for a total of 36 runs against Australia at Adelaide in December 2020. But, the Indian team made a comeback and won the series 2-1.
A relatively inexperienced test team of Ireland was all out for a score of 38 runs against England in 2019.
In 1946, New Zealand were dismissed for a score of 42 against Australia in the home series at Wellington.
Back in 1888, the visitors, England team were terrific to dismiss the Australia team for 42 at Sydney.
