Ekana Stadium in Lucknow is hosting match no 45 of Tata IPL 2023 which is being played between Chennai Super Kings and hosts Lucknow Super Giants. The Giants have made quite a few changes to their eleven and one change is the omission of Yash Thakur.
Yash Thakur is a surprise omission for Lucknow Super Giants. The right-arm pacer has been bowling decently and has picked up 5 wickets from 4 matches at an economy of 8.42. He has been included among the substitutes in this game and might come into the eleven in the second innings when LSG bowls. Here’s what LSG’s stand-in skipper Krunal Pandya said at the toss,
“We wanted to bat first, so it is even stevens. The batters can go out and express themselves. KL is a big loss, he’s a quality player but it creates an opportunity. The morale is pretty high, we are looking to play some positive cricket. Manan (Vohra) and Karan (Sharma) come in.“

The Lucknow Super Giants signed the young Vidarbha pacer, Yash, for INR 45 Lakh. Although he has not yet made his debut in the IPL, Yash has already played in 37 T20 matches, taking 55 wickets. He is eager to make a significant contribution with his bowling during the upcoming edition of the Tata IPL.
Yash gained popularity during the 2022 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy when Vidarbha faced Delhi in the semi-finals, and nine runs were required in the final over. Thakur delivered an outstanding performance, preventing the opposition batsmen from scoring any runs during the over. As a result, he claimed 15 wickets from 10 matches during the tournament’s season.
