The IPL 2021 has started and the whole cricketing world has laid its eyes on the experienced as well as youngsters who can be the top-performers for their country in the T20 World Cup this year. It is most likely that the selection committee of different countries will be looking at IPL form as a criterion to name their squad for the ICC tournament. One of the major issues of a pandemic is following a quarantine period before joining the team camp. Many players were tested positive or arrived late in India and did not play their team’s first 2 matches.
The South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi who featured for the national team in the ODI series against Pakistan arrived in India in the first week of April. Then, he had to follow a quarantine guidelines before joining the team camp. Yesterday, the fast bowler completed quarantine and posted a story captioned, “And, I’m out” with him being sweating it out in the gym. He has now begin training for the tournament. If the team decides to drop Dwayne Bravo and play with an attacking pace bowler, Lungi Ngidi can make his way into the Playing XI. In this video, he can be clearly seen bonding with other players and staff of the CSK team.
The opening partnership will be very important for both the team to set a stable platform for the middle-order players. Until this moment, both the teams have not been able to stitch a good partnership. For CSK, Ruturaj Gaikwad can be replaced by Robin Uthappa to open with Faf Du Plessis.
The Rajasthan Royals can once again trust Manan Vohra to fire due to his experience and track-record and open with Jos Buttler.
