In a huge blow for the five-time IPL champions, Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out for the remaining edition of the Indian Premier League. The Mumbai Indians have released an official statement that the right-handed batsman has sustained a muscle strain on his left forearm and has been advised rest. This is a big loss for the Rohit Sharma-led team considering the impressive form of Suryakumar in IPL 2022 so far.

“Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on the left fore arm and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised to rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team,” the Mumbai Indians said in a statement.

“We would like to field first, no particular reason. We keep changing what we want to do as a team. The season has been up and down for us. Everyone games us a new opportunity, we need to put our right foot forward. We have one change, Surya is injured. Ramandeep comes in for him,” said Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma at the toss.

Suryakumar Yadav had scored a brilliant tally of 303 runs from as many as 8 matches that consisted a total of three half-centuries. Also, during the previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022, Suryakumar Yadav played an important knock of 52 runs off 36 balls.
