Royal Challengers Bangalore are squaring off against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium for the 54th match of Tata IPL 2023. RCB has made several changes to their playing eleven and one notable change is the exclusion of leg spinner Karn Sharma from the team.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have made a shocking change to their eleven by sidelining leg spinner Karn Sharma. RCB seems t0o have made this as a tactical change depending on the surface and have included medium pacer Vyshak Vijaykumar who is known for varying his pace. Sharma, however, is among the substitutes and could come in as an Impact player in the second innings when RCB bowls. Here’s what Faf du Plessos said at the toss,
“Generally you chase here because of the nature of this ground. Big score always creates the scoreboard pressure. They have a good batting line-up, hopefully we get wickets in their innings. There are a lot of teams in the race for that third and fourth spot, we need to play good cricket. One change for us, Vyshak comes in for Karn Sharma.”

Karn Sharma IPL 2023 Salary
RCB acquired Karn Sharma for his base price of INR 50 lakhs during the 2022 Mega Auction. Sharma is a leg spinner and made his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013. In his first season, he took 11 wickets, while in 2014, he was the second highest wicket-taker with 15 wickets. In 2015, he had a good run as well. Sharma was a part of the winning teams in 2016, 2017, and 2018 with Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chennai respectively.
