MI vs RR Playing 11: Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals will be up against each other at Delhi on Thursday’s first IPL match. This has been a roller coaster for both the sides with neither of them having a settled combination yet. Mumbai have the worst scoring rate in the death overs while Rajasthan have the worst economy rate at the death this season. Rajasthan is one those few teams which has a decent overall record against Mumbai. In 23 matches played so far, both the teams have won 11 games each. Last season too, the overall result was equal as both teams won a game against each other.

For Mumbai, all players are available for selection. With Krunal Pandya out of form, Neesham may slot into the eleven to strengthen the batting lineup.

R Sharma (C)
Q de Kock (wk)
S Yadav
I Kishan
K Pollard

Apart from Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, no batsman has played a significant innings for Mumbai. They will need some intent from the middle order as the usual finishing touch of Pollard and Hardik Pandya is lacking. RR Team News

With Andrew Tye the latest RR player to leave the tournament, they are left with just 4 foreign players now. With limited options available, they are likely to retain the same combination that defeated KKR.

RR Playing 11 (likely)

J Buttler
Y Jaiswal
S Samson (C) (wk)
S Dube
D Miller
R Parag
R Tewatia
C Morris
J Unadkat
C Sakariya
M Rahman

Buttler’s lack of runs will be a concern but short boundaries in Delhi may bring the best out of him. Samson and Miller are two quality batsmen in the middle order but young Indian batsmen like Dube and Parag need to take more responsibilities. Morris is bowling well after a slow start while Chetan Sakariya is becoming a dependable bowler by bowling in tough situations.
