Most Fours in IPL – Batsmen in the Indian Premier League over the years have hit a plethora of fours and sixes. With field restrictions in the first six overs, batters take an added advantage and smash as many as boundaries they can to take their team off the flyer. However, they also make sure that they hit boundaries at regular intervals to keep the innings on track and then fire in the end.

1. Shikhar Dhawan

Senior Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan tops the list of most fours in IPL. The southpaw has been one of the best batsmen in the league with more than 5500 runs to his name. He has smashed 634 fours in 183 innings in the tournament so far. Apart from this, he holds the record of smashing two consecutive centuries in the cash-rich league.

2. David Warner

Australian opener David Warner has the second most fours in IPL with 525 boundaries to husb. The southpaw has scored 5449 runs at an average and strike rate of 41.59 and 139.87 in the league. Having played for Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, he’s arguably the best opener that the league has seen. He holds the unique record of winning the orange cap two times.

3. Virat Kohli  

There’s no doubt that you’ll find Virat Kohli in almost every list related to batting records in the IPL. This time he finds himself in the list of most fours in IPL. The right-hander has 525 fours to his name in 191 innings. Being the only batsmen with more than 6000 runs in the league, Kohli has also scored 5 centuries in the tournament. Although he’ll no longer captain RCB in the tournament, one can expect him to play with all freedom and break several more records.

4. Suresh Raina 

Suresh Raina is fourth on the list of most fours in IPL with 502 fours to his name. The left-hander has been one of the main architects for CSK’s success in the league. He also played for Gujarat Lions in the IPL. Considered as MR.IPL, Raina has over 5400 runs in the league with solitary century and 39 fifties to his name.

5. Gautam Gambhir – 491 fours 

Former Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir has played an instrumental role in team success and led them to title victories. Apart from his leadership, he was a prolific run-getter in the league. Having scored more than 4000 runs in the tournament, the southpaw sits fifth on the list of most fours in IPL. He has scored 491 runs in the league.
