Most sixes in IPL – It is a known fact that over the years, the shortest format of the game evolved, the importance of sixes in the game gained more weightage and teams started focussing on recruiting genuine six hitters who could change the equation with just two hits even on a tricky surface. One of the major reasons why West Indies are called pioneers of T20 cricket is they realised the value of six hitting long before the game evolved and one can see why the batsmen from Caribbean dominate the list of most sixes.

Here’s a list of most sixes in IPL since the inception of Indian Premier League

Chris Gayle stands tall in most sixes in IPL list

Chris Gayle has hit 50 sixes in an IPL season for more than once in the history of IPL. His country mate Andre Russell has done it once in 2019. Chris Gayle has topped the most sixes in an season thrice with all of them coming for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Those were his peak years where he destroyed anyone and everyone at his sight.

Jos Buttler had the chance to break Chris Gayle’s most sixes by anyone in a single season of IPL (59) in this season but the destructive England opener faded away big time in the second half of the IPL which dented the golden opportunity.
