Murali Vijay

Out of sorts Indian Test and Chennai Super Kings opener Murali Vijay has revealed the name of an Australian women’s cricketer with whom he wishes to go on a date.

The name is none other than the Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry. He said, she is very beautiful and will definitely have dinner with her. Apart from this, Vijay revealed many other things related to his cricket career in an Instagram live chat session on the Chennai Super Kings official handle.

Murali Vijay credits his parents for where he has reached

It is important to note here that the opening batsman hailing from Chennai last featured for India in the 2018 Test series against Australia. The slump of form costed his place in the national side, and since then he hasn’t been a part of the Indian squad in any form of the game.

However, wherever he has reached in his cricketing career so far, he credits his parents for the same. When asked who is his favorite cricketer, the right-hander named the ‘Multan ka Sultan’ Virender Sehwag as his favorite cricketer. Showering praise on Sehwag, Vijay said;

When i bat with him (Sehwag) runs scoring becomes easy and i start scoring runs on my own

Both Sehwag and Vijay have opened for India in the past and when Murali Vijay made his Test debut, he got the leverage of innings with the swashbuckling opener.

Murali Vijay had something to say for MS Dhoni

Further in the live session, Vijay also talked about the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni and how he helped him in his career.

Mahi Bhai had supported me a lot during the 2014 tour of England. I scored a century on the tour of England, the credit of which goes to Dhoni. If you stay in the dressing room with him, then you learn a lot. I cannot describe them in words. He had reposed faith in me which had given me confidence

The 2014 India’s tour of England was one of the toughest in context to the conditions in England and Wales. The only Test which India won in that tour came at the ‘Lords’ where Murali Vijay scored a crucial 95 in the second innings and Ishant Sharma’s 7-fer in the second innings completely knocked England out.
