6,6,6: WATCH Nitish Rana blasts three sixes in a row off Karn Sharma

As we go towards the twilight phase of this year’s IPL, matches are getting even more exciting with everything to play for. In one of those massive matches for Kolkata Knight Riders, they took on Chennai Super Kings yesterday at Dubai. Nitish Rana played one of his best IPL innings to propel KKR on their way with his 87.

Which batsman will end up with most runs in IPL 2020?

Rana goes bang-bang-bang!

Nitish Rana was already set and hitting the ball really well when Karn Sharma came on to bowl the 16th over of the innings. It was just like an early Christmas present for Nitish Rana as he would have liked to play a leg-spinner rather than a fast-bowler at that stage. He didn’t miss out on the opportunity either.

On the first ball, Nitish Rana brought out his sweep and sent the ball over his favourite cow-corner region for a maximum. On the next ball, he used his feet and tried to reach to pitch of the ball. He again sent the ball sailing over mid-wicket region, this time though slight squarer. After this, Karn Sharma realized the fact that Nitish Rana was going after him every ball and tried to bowl a fuller one next ball. KKR left-hander was up to that as well and hit it straight down over long-on for another six. It was always difficult for a wrist-spinner to bowl to a set batsman in the death overs and Nitish Rana proved it just why.

CSK spoil KKR’s party!

Two points were most critical for KKR when they took the field against CSK. Batting first, they posted 172 runs on the board. Nitish Rana was the main architect of the innings with valuable contributions from couple of others. The score looked a comparative one after the first innings keeping in mind KKR’s bowling prowess.

Which opening combo should India play in the ODI series against Australia?

Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers failed to pick up wickets in clusters as Ruturaj Gaikwad anchored the innings perfectly for CSK with his 72. Ambati Rayudu also made an important contribution in the middle overs. But it was Ravindra Jadeja who pulled off another tough equation in the last 3 overs to take CSK home and broke many KKR hearts on the night.
