NZ vs India: Skipper Kane Williamson ruled out from the fourth T20I

The Blackcaps have confirmed that their skipper Kane Williamson will be missing the fourth T20I against India due to injury issues. The right-hand batsman who was currently in terrific form hurt his left AC joint while fielding, in the super-over loss in the 3rd T20I.

In the absence of Williamson, team senior player Tim Southee is expected to do captaincy in the fourth T20I which will be played today at Wellington. Talking about the batting order, Tim Seifert will likely to take the spot of Kane at No. 3.

Williamson absence is a major blow to New Zealand

The Kiwis have already lost the series with India winning all the three T20Is till now and Williamson‘s absence will certainly limit their chances of winning the upcoming match.

In the previous match, the star batsman and team’s backbone had smashed brilliant 95 runs off 48 balls while chasing down the 180 runs scored by team India.

Tom Bruce as a replacement for Kane Williamson

As Kane is already ruled out from the next T20I, Tom Bruce has been given an opportunity to play in the next match while Daryl Mitchell will be a replacement for Colin de Grandhomme, who is being rested as well.

The next T20I is scheduled to play today on 31 January at Westpac Stadium in Wellington. Team India has established its first-ever series victory in New Zealand and will be looking forward to another win. Skipper Kohli’s side has been predominant in the series. The team might be struggling with the fielding side but nonetheless, in the end, they have managed to win all the three consecutive matches.
