PBKS vs DC IPL Match 29: Nicholas Pooran or Dawid Malan? Who will be four overseas picks for PBKS

PBKS vs DC IPL Match 29: Punjab Kings have always managed to bring their best when playing against RCB. In IPL 2020, they defeated RCB in both their league games and won their first face off in IPL 2021 in spite of the fact that they are in terrible space at the moment as far as points table is concerned. They will be facing DC in today’s game after hammering RCB in their previous outing.

They have had so many things going against them in this season and they have only themselves to blame for. The fact that they decided to trust Jhye Richardson at #7 to start their campaign was a blunder by all means. The Australian tearaway quick is a solid #8 but one cant trust him to do a genuine finisher’s role and PBKS paid the price for it.

#1 T20I batsman Dawid Malan to make IPL debut?

Nicholas Pooran had one of the greatest seasons ever for any player last year as a middle order player. He was ruthless in attacking spin and showed no mercy in middle overs. He was blasting the spinners for fun in middle overs and the opposition teams have decided to bowl no spin against him in this season and it has lead to him being pathetic so far.

He is a good defensive player against pace but his attacking game is not something that one can talk highly about. He has been a serial disappointment so far in this season. He has managed to score a grand total of 28 runs in 6 outings so far which would clearly tempt any management to leave him out of the playing 11.

The replacement option being Dawid Malan doesn’t inspire any confidence as well as he is poor against spin and DC have quality spinners in their ranks. They have backed Nicholas Pooran for first 7 games and it does make sense if they decide to give him another 2 more games before dropping him as the replacement option is dire as well.
