Who won today’s IPL match?: The 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) saw Punjab Kings taking on Gujarat Titans at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. It was a high-scoring thriller that was mostly donned by the Hardik Pandya-led side for most of time. But pressure got better of them in the death overs and it seemed that they would throw the good start away. However, in the end Rahul Tewatia yet again stood tall for his side and smashed two sixes on two balls to win the match for his side.

Asked to bat first, Punjab Kings started poorly with the bat as they skipper Mayank Agarwal (5) and Jonny Bairstow (8) inside the power play. After that Shikhar Dhawan (35) and Liam Livingstone (64) then took the bowlers to the cleaners and rescued the innings after slow start. Jitesh Sharma (23) then also chipped with a crucial cameo and a fine finish by Rahul Chahar (22*) helped Punjab post a total of 189 runs on the board after they were tottering at 162/9. For GT, Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers and returned with 3/22.

Chasing the target, Shubman Gill took his side off the flyer by scoring flurry of boundaries upfront and then smashed a fiery fifty in just 30 balls to put his side in a comfortable position. Sai Sudarshan (35) also impressed many on his debut and along with Shubman Gill made sure that GT doesn’t lose momentum after the wicket of Mathew Wade (6). Skipper Hardik Pandya joined Gill and the duo struggled to score runs off Arshdeep Singh, who bowled two brilliant overs at the death and Rabada did the damage by removing Gill for 96 runs. With 19 runs needed off the last over, a mix -up saw Pandya back in the hut for 27 runs. Needing 12 runs on the last two balls, Rahul Tewatia smashed two sixes in two balls to win the match for his side by 6 wickets.

Man of the match today IPL

Gujarat Titans opening batsman Shubman Gill was awarded Man of the Match for his explosive knock of 96 runs off 59 balls in today match’s against Punjab Kings. Opening the batting for the side, the right-hander set the tone for his side in the mammoth chase of 190 runs. The flamboyant openers tonked PBKS bowlers all over the park for his knock. His innings were laced with 11 fours and 1 six.

The next match of the IPL 2022 will take place between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai at 3:30 Pm. While the afternoon game will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians at MCA Stadium in Pune.
