Who won today’s IPL match?: Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 saw its 28th match being played between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The Kane Williamson-led side continued their dominance and registered their fourth consecutive loss of the season and earn their 8th point of the season. They thumped PBKS by 7 wickets to enter top-4 in the points table.
Asked to bat first, Punjab Kings had a a disappointing start to their innings as they lost wickets in clusters and were 61/4 at the end of 8th over. Liam Livingstone then took the responsibility and continued his good form and brought PBKS back in the game. The right-hander scored 60 runs in 33 balls to help his side post a fighting total of 151 runs on the board. Umran Malik starred with the ball for his side as he took three wickets without conceding a single run in the last over to return the figures of 4/28.

SRH were off the sloppy start with the bat as they lost Kane Williamson (3) in the fourth over. Rahul Tripathi played a dasher’s innings of 34 runs in 22 balls but fell to Rahul Chahar, who also removed Abhishek Sharma (31). Aiden Markram (41) and Nicholas Pooran (35) then batted brilliantly to take their side home.
Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik was awarded Man of the Match in today’s encounter against Punjab Kings in Mumbai. The right-arm pacer returned with an exceptional figures of 4/28 and the rattled the opposition’s batting line up. He first removed Jitesh Sharma and then bowled a record-making last over of the season. He became only the fourth bowler in the history of the league to bowl a maiden over in the final over of the innings.
