Indian players post pictures of training on social media ahead of the third Test

By Chaitanya Laxman

India’s performance in the ongoing Test series against England has been anything but spectacular. After losing the first Test with a narrow margin, the visitors were completely outplayed by England in the second Test.

This has resulted in heavy criticism against the Indian team from all corners but it seems like Team India has moved on with the defeats and is once again focused to face England in the third Test. At least the pictures posted by Indian cricket team’s official account on Instagram and the players indicate this.

These pictures show Indian players sweating it out on the Trent Bridge cricket ground. In the pictures posted by Indian cricket team’s official account on Instagram, Virat Kohli and Chesteshwar Pujara are seen with their helmets on gearing up for a batting session in the nets and Hardik Pandya in his bowling run-up. Also, there are pictures of Ishant Sharma, KL Rahul, Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah running on the ground.

The most interesting part of these pictures is probably Jasprit Bumrah. The fast bowler missed the first two Tests due to injury but he is seen practicing with other bowlers in these pictures. This could be the indication that Bumrah has recovered completely now and will feature in the playing 11.

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has posted a video of his batting session in the nets on social media. The caption reads, ‘Practice, practice and more practice’. The left-hand batsman was dropped from the team for the second Test due to his poor performance but he may find a place in the playing XI for the third Test as India’s other openers have fared poorly as well.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli too has joined the bandwagon and has posted a  picture of a team meeting on his account. From the pictures, it is clear that Kohli is sure to play the third Test.

The third Test of this series will begin on Saturday, 18th August at Trent Bridge. India is trailing by 2-0 in this series and has to come back strongly to keep the five-match Test series alive.
