PSL 2022: In a shocking turn of events in Multan Sultans’ tent, Tim David, who has been one of their mainstays in the batting order this season, has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the Qualifier against Lahore Qalandars scheduled to take place on February 23 (Wednesday) at Gaddafi Stadium.

Sultans, riding on the performances from some of their key players, namely Shan Masood, Mohammad Rizwan, Imran Tahir, Khushdil Shah, and David had propelled their way to the top spot in PSL 2022 rankings, with 9 wins and a sole defeat in their league run.

PSL 2022: Tim David doubtful for Qualifier

While there hasn’t been any confirmation from Multan Sultans’ end regarding Tim David’s health, as per the reports by Geo News, the Singaporean showed a positive PCR test just a few hours before the Qualifier against the Lahore Qalandars.

The 25-year-old has been an integral player in each of Sultans’ triumphs this season. Boasting an average of 41.83 and a jaw-dropping strike rate close to 200, David has aggregated 251 runs in 10 innings, and even finished the game for the Sultans on a few occasions. His fearless approach in the middle and death overs has been a huge plus for the defending champions and missing out on the hard-hitter’s services in the must-win stages could prove costly for Mohammad Rizwan & Co.
