PSL 2022: Alex Hales returns for remainder of the tournament

The Pakistan Super League 2022 saw its league stage matches get concluded on Monday. The Peshawar Zalmi secured a hard fought victory in the super over, but it did not make any difference in the points table. The top 4 teams were Multan Sultans, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United respectively. Here is the latest update from the playoffs of the PSL 2022, which would excite Islamabad United supporters.


PSL 2022: Alex Hales returns for remainder of the tournament

The top order batsman from England, Alex Hales, who pulled out of the PSL 2022 recently due to the bubble fatigue is confirmed to be rejoining the Islamabad United team for the playoffs of the tournament. The Pakistan Journalist Saj Sadiq gave an update on Twitter regarding the availability of Hales. He is expected to feature in Eliminator fixture against Peshawar Zalmi on Thursday.


Here is what Hales had said a few days back after leaving PSL 2022 midway,

“To all the Islamabad and PSL fans, I am extremely sorry to have to leave the tournament early. Unfortunately, the last four months away from home in Covid bubbles has taken a considerable toll on me.” Hales said on 15 February.

With a fresh mind, Alex Hales would certainly be an asset to the Islamabad United team in the playoffs. Alex has scored 255 runs in 7 matches, and was instrumental in team reaching the playoffs. The team already have the likes of Shadab Khan and Colin Munro warming the bench due to injuries, and the return of Hales will boost the prospects of team reaching the finals of the tournament.
