Alex Hales

England international and Karachi Kings opener Alex Hales has reportedly shown symptoms of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on his return to England.

In a video, Ramiz Raja has confirmed the report. Raja says Hales may have contracted the virus. “The news coming in right now is that maybe Alex Hales is showing symptoms and he is being tested because of which this problem has risen,” said Ramiz Raja.

“We (the broadcasters) also have our tests in the next two hours.”

PCB on player with suspected symptoms

The PCB CEO Wasim Khan did not give away the player’s name talking to the media. “A player is potentially suspected now. We can’t reveal the identity of the player. It is private and we won’t take his name,” said Wasim Khan.

When asked about Ramiz Raja’s comment, Wasim said, “Well, we would like to keep the player’s name private, and we can only tell that he is an overseas player. And he is not in Pakistan at the moment. He has developed the symptoms in the last 24 hours.”

PSL Called Off

Earlier today, Pakistan Super League (PSL) was called off due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The semi-finals between Multan Sultan and Peshawar Zalmi, as well as Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, were scheduled for 17 March.
