Big Bash League 2022/23

The 12th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) is underway. The season so far has seen many breathtaking performances with many superstars putting on a staggering show with both bat and ball. The business end of the tournament is about to reach and so far we still haven’t got the semi finalists.

Rashid likely to opt out of the remainder of the Big Bash League

Rashid Khan is an integral part of Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. However, he might not be available for the remainder of the tournament as has issued a bold statement regarding his availability to play in the event in future.

Cricket Australia’s recent move to pull out of the upcoming series against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to Taliban’s moves to restrict women’s rights has led to governing body facing a lot of criticism.

Many fans and pundits have lashed out at the CA for their move and Afghanistan pacer Naveed Ul Haq has pulled himself out of the Big Bash League. His fellow teammate Rashid Khan too expressed his disappointment and issued a threatening statement, saying that he won’t take part in league.

“I am really disappointed to hear that Australia have pulled out of the series to play us in March. I take great pride in representing my country and we have made great progress on the world stage. This decision from CA sets us back in that journey. If playing vs Afghanistan is so uncomfortable for Australia then I wouldn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable with my presence in the BBL. Therefore, I will be strongly considering my future in that competition.”
