Another day and yet another collapse of Team India’s batting as the resolve that they displayed right through the third day of the Leeds Test completely evaporated on the fourth morning. Starting the day at 2/215 and with two set batsmen in Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli at the crease, India would have hoped that the duo will continue with their good work and whittle down the 139-run deficit.

However, it wasn’t the case as O/63] Ollie Robinson [5/65], James Anderson [1/63] and Craig Overton [3/47] ran through the Indian middle and lower order to ensure that the visitors lost their last eight wickets for a mere 63 runs to hand England a series-leveling comprehensive win by an innings and 76 runs.Ollie Robinson proved to be the chief destroyer on the 4th morning as the right-hander knocked over both overnight batsmen in Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli within the first 30 minutes to leave India in tatters.

Ajinkya Rahane once again disappointed as he poked at a ball that he could have left from James Anderson to hand England their third scalp of the morning. Rishabh Pant came out all guns blazing but once again Ollie Robinson proceeded to pocket him with the across angle as the southpaw nicked off in the slip-cordon.

With just one specialist batsman left in Ravindra Jadeja and four No.11s to follow, the writing was on the wall for India and it didn’t take long for the inevitable to happen as Moeen Ali knocked over Mohammed Shami before Craig Overton claimed the wickets of Jadeja and Siraj to cap off what was a truly amazing performance by England in the 3rd Test.

With England winning the 3rd Test, the series is beautifully set-up now with all to play in the remaining couple of matches at the Oval and then in Manchester. The fourth Test will take place in London from September 02, 2021.
