Nitish Rana Covid-19: Big blow for Kolkata Knight Knight Riders ahead of IPL 2021 as batsman Nitish Rana has been tested positive for Covid-19. As per reports surfacing in the media, Rana joined the KKR camp after holidaying in Goa. He went through a mandatory health check-up only two days ago, where he returned a positive report. However, both KKR and BCCI are yet to confirm the news.
As per reports, Nitish Rana is following all the mandatory medical protocols and is in quarantine in an unspecified Mumbai hotel. The news has come as a big blow for both Rana and KKR. The 27-year-old batsman, who took part in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, is a vital cog in the KKR batting unit. Despite being slightly inconsistent, Rana still managed to rack up 352 runs in IPL 2020. In fact, he has amassed more than 300 runs in each of the last 4 IPL seasons.
KKR will kick-start their IPL 2021 season with the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11.
In times of uncertainty and the negativity surrounding the bubble-life athletes are forced to live in due to Covid-19, Nitish Rana’s Covid-19 report has come as a big blow.
