Adil Rashid might return to Test arena:

England might decide to bring back their leg-spinner Adil Rashid who decided to opt out of playing red-ball cricket earlier this year.

Coach Trevor Bayliss has hinted that their bowling premier could earn a recall to Test cricket if he decides to change his decision.

The 30-year old has not played in the longest format since December 2016 as he preferred to compete only in the ODIs and T20s after playing 10 Tests for his country.

England selectors are pushing for the selection of the slow bowler as he can prove to be a lethal weapon for the English side considering his abilities to bowl on dry wickets.

When asked if Rashid would be considered for Test selection if he was playing red-ball cricket, Bayliss said: “May be. We have seen him bowl this year and it is probably the best we’ve seen him bowl.”

“He has really bowled well in one-day cricket over the last few years but this year, he has shown outstanding control and consistency this year has been top class and probably the best I’ve seen him bowl since I’ve been watching him.

“Reconsidering his decision is completely his choice. I’m not sure if our national selector has talked to him yet or not a chat with him or not. Could he get picked in the Test team? Well, it’s already been proven this year – it’s happened once with Buttler. I think he would be up for discussion, definitely.”

Adil Rashid has emerged as the leading wicket-taker in ODIs and T20 internationals for England this summer. He has taken 25 scalps including Virat Kohli in the last ODI with a sharply-turning delivery which left India’s captain awestruck.

Rashid has delivered outstanding performance for his have been delivered at a time when England were trying to find quality spinners.
