Rishabh Pant Instagram video: Team India is gearing up to face New Zealand in the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final starting from June 18 in Southampton. The Virat Kohli-led Indian contingent is currently serving a mandatory quarantine period in Mumbai and the national team is scheduled to take a flight to UK on June 2. It will be a long busy English summer for the Indian Test team as they are scheduled to play a five-match Test series against England in August post the WTC final.
In his latest Instagram video going viral on the internet, India’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is seen performing the head-stand to perfection during his hard-fought training regime before the all-important WTC final against New Zealand. The swashbuckling left-hander posted a similar video yesterday as well but he couldn’t do the head-stand properly in the first attempt. Even during his quarantine period, Pant is spending lot of time in the gym as he is training hard to keep himself fit for the upcoming long English summer.
“Preparing for what’s coming” read the caption on Rishabh Pant’s Instagram post.
In his recent interview with The Telegraph, New Zealand bowling coach Shane Jurgensen termed India’s Rishabh Pant as an extremely dangerous player as he has the ability to change the game on its head. After his stunning heroics during the memorable Test series win in Australia and then that match-defining hundred against England in the 4th Test match, Pant has definitely become a pivotal member of the Indian team.
“Well, Pant is an extremely dangerous player who can change the game on its head. We saw how well he did it against Australia and England. He’s extremely positive-minded, but with that comes potentially the opportunity to take his wicket,” said Shane Jurgensen in the conversation with The Telegraph.
“Our bowlers need to execute well, stay calm and make it as difficult as possible for Pant to score runs. He’s certainly a free-flowing batsman and a tough one to stop, which we should keep in mind,” he added.
