Clad in a crisp blue suit, white shirt and a green tie, Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was supposed to ring the bell at the Lord’s cricket ground before first England vs India Test but his plans suffered a jolt as the opening day was called off due to rain.
Sachin took to his Twitter handle expressing his disappointment over the missed opportunity.
He wrote, “Was all set to ring the bell at Lord’s to start off the second Test today, but unfortunately, the weather had other plans. Hopefully, we will get to see some good cricket over the next 4 days.”
Tendulkar was also seen getting clicked with actor Ranvir Singh and bollywood director Kabir Khan. Kabir posted a picture on his Instagram account with Tendulkar and Ranvir Singh and captioned the image, “Sachin was 9 years old when he saw on television Kapil Dev’s win in the World Cup in 1983 right here at this ground. That win inspired him to want to play for India. 35 years later we kick off the prep for our film 83 at the Lord’s.. Can’t get better than this can it? @ranveersingh @sachintendulkar #indiaenglandseries #lords #filmprep
India had lost the first match at Edgbaston by 31 runs. Notably, when India played at Lord’s in 2014, they won on the ground after 28 years backing on the impressive bowling performance from Ishant Sharma.
The visitors had earlier won the T20I series against the hosts by 2-1, but they lost the ODI series by 1-2.
