Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid are hailed as one of the most dependent batting pairs of the Indian cricket team post-2000 era who established a strong brand name and raised the performance bar of the Indian cricket team.

Both the batting legends, having played under different captains and taking the responsibility of captain of their national side dominated in every condition. India may have struggled for opening test pair for a long time, but Sachin & Dravid firmed their playing positions in the team firmly.

Batting together in 143 test innings, the duo amassed 6920 runs at an average of 50.21 with 20 centuries and 29 fifties among both. In the shorter format, Tendulkar & Dravid aggregated 4117 runs with 11 century & 14- fifty stands.

“To come here and play is always special. I have always enjoyed being here at Lord’s. Somehow I couldn’t get big runs here but I also see at the same time that some big name is missing out there on the honours boards,” Tendulkar said in a video posted by Lord’s cricket ground’s official page on Facebook.

Rahul Dravid, on other hand made his Test debut at the iconic ground of Lords in summers of 1996 at the age of 23, where the wall constructed an innings of 95, 5 short of his maiden century in the first ever performance playing for the national side. Rahul considered his knock of 95 as a sign of victory.

A lot of legendary cricketers across the globe praised the duo- combination pair of both including Waqar Younis, Saurav Ganguly in their respective speech. On one hand, the Pakistani legend hugely credited the long-term success of middle order batting line-up of Indian cricket to both the players. The then- Indian captain, Ganguly, fondly called “Dada”, termed the phase of Sachin-Dravid era as the starting of winning against top-notch test sides outside the Asian sub-continent.

Kumar Sangakkara, the captain of Sri Lanka who guided its team to finals of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in the subcontinent, pointed his views on the magnificent partnership of both the legends on multiple occasions despite of different playing style & level of aggressiveness.

Though the Superman of India, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar missed the opportunity of a Lords test hundred, Jammy punched his wrist in joy after reaching to his maiden Test hundred at the Mecca of Cricket in 2011. Though India lost the test match against England, Dravid became the 10th Indian having an iconic century at the venue. Till date, 11 Indians scored a ton at Lords, having won only twice when Dilip Vengasarkar scored 126* & Ajinkya Rahane with his match-winning knock of 103 to win the 2nd test of 2014 series.
