Matthew Kuhnemann – The injury woes are only increasing for Australia camp. The ongoing tour to Sri Lanka has seen the team suffer a plethora of injuries. The likes of Sean Abbott, Kane Richardson Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Marsh have already been ruled out and the latest entrant on the list is Marcus Stoinis. The all-rounder suffered a side strain during the recently concluded first ODI. In the latest development, Cricket Australia has announced Matthew Kuhnemann as the replacement for Stoinis.

Who is Matthew Kuhnemann?

Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Matthew Kuhnemann, who is a spin-bowling all-rounder, was born on 20th September 1996. After making his debut for Cricket Australia XI in 2017, he was offered a rookie contract for Queensland. Apart from this he also has featured has in the Big Bash League and has represented Brisbane Heat.

Talking about his stats, Kuhnemann has played 10 First-Class matches, scalping 29 wickets at an average of 35.31 to go with 3 five-wicket hauls and one 10-wicket haul. He also has featured in 24 List A matches and 18 T20s, bagging 37 and 11 wickets at an economy of 5.72 and 7.69 respectively.

With the bat, he has scored 87 runs in 9 First-Class cricket innings and the same amount of runs in List A matches in 12 innings. Whereas in 7 innings in T20s, he has scored 22 runs.
