In a really exciting incident, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Rahul Tripathi pulled off an outstanding catch to dismiss Gujarat Titans opening batsman Shubman Gill in just the third over of the match. For the Sunrisers Hyderabad, premier new ball bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was coming after conceding as many as 17 runs in his first over and now he got the better of the in-form Gill courtesy a superb one-handed catch from Tripathi while fielding at the short extra cover region.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, the Gujarat Titans got off to a poor start as they lost as many as two wickets inside the first six overs of the powerplay. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan dismissed the duo of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan respectively. Things became worse for the Gujarat Titans when Matthew Wade was sent back to the pavilion by Umran Malik.
