Who won today’s IPL match?: Sunrisers Hyderabad crossed swords with new franchise Gujarat Titans in the 21st match of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The game took place at DY Patli Stadium in Mumbai and it was enthralling contest as players of both the sides left no stone unturned. But the Kane Williamson-led side were a bit better on the day and registered their second win of the season by beating GT by 8 wickets.
Asked to bat first, Gujarat Titans had a decent power play as they scored around 50 runs but they lost two wickets in Shubman Gill (7) and Sai Sudarshan (11). After that skipper Hardik Pandya (50*) scored his maiden half-century as the captain of the side and guided his side to the fighting total of 162 runs. He was compliment well by Abhinav Manohar, who scored 35 runs. For SRH, T Natarajan was the pick of the bowlers and returned with the figures of 2/34.

Chasing the target, SRH yet against went off the flyer like last match as openers Abhishek Sharma (42) and Kane Williamson (57) scored 64 runs for the opening partnership. After the wicket of the southpaw, SRH suffered a major blow as Rahul Tripathi injured his leg while batting and sustained in what seemed to be a calf injury and was immediately taken off the field. Things only got worse for them when they lost skipper Williamson in the 17th over. But after that Nicholas Pooran (34*) and Aiden Markram (12*) took the responsibility and closed the game for his side and win the match by 8 wickets.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Kane Williamson was awarded Player of the Match in today’s IPL 2022 encounter against Gujarat Titans. Opening the batting, the right-hander was very cautious initially. But after that he took off and played a match-winning knock of 57 runs to help his side register their second win of the season and go fourth on the points table. His innings was laced with 2 fours and 4 sixes.
