The loss of Perera is a big blow for the Sri Lankan team who is already plagued by their inconsistent batting order. Perera’s exclusion will make their middle order even more vulnerable and the team management now has to somehow find  a way to add strength to it.

Meanwhile England’s all-rounder Liam Dawson has been ruled out from the remaining series as well.
