Australia team management have roped in pace bowler Mitchell Starc to replace injured pacer Billy Stanlake forthe third T20I between Australia and India which will be played on November 25th.
Left-arm pacer Micthell Starc who is recovering from an injury he sustained during the Pakistan series was expected to make a comeback in the team for the first Test against India. However the team management seems to be pleased with his recovery and hence have roped him in the team for the third T20I. The pacer hasn’t featured in a T20 international since September 2016.
Australia captain Aaron Finch stated that Starc has got so much experience in the limited-overs games as well and they have seen how dominant he can be when he gets it right with the ball.
He also explained that the team management will have a look at the wicket and will then discuss the side. He feels that coming straight off a Shield game with an eye on the first Test, Starc’s preparations will be really good.
Pace bowler Billy Stanlake had injured his ankle on the boundary line while having a catching practice during the warm-ups for the second T20I. His scans have indicated that his injury is a serious one and hence he has been ruled out of the 3rd T20I.
Finch said that Stanlake started to find some really good rhythm in Brisbane and he’s been around the mark for quite a while. The Aussie captain stated that Stanlake obviously had a tough tour of England and to come back and have that time to get his body right and start to feel good again, it’s unfortunate he tripped on the rope and went straight over on the ankle.
The home team is leading the three match series 1-0 after winning the first encounter at Brisbane. The second match was washed out and now both teams will lock horns on November 25th for the third T20I.
