Suresh Raina will play for CSK, confirms franchise official

MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings are one of the pioneers when it comes to consistency in the famed Indian Premier League. They have made the playoffs/semi-finals in each and every season of the IPL in which they have participated except the recently concluded season where CSK were knocked out for the first time in the IPL history before playoffs.

The fans were disappointed with their performance and selections in this year’s IPL and they suffered a huge blow before the start of the season when Suresh Raina decided to skip this edition of IPL citing personal reasons.

Suresh Raina to play for CSK in 2021

A lot of rumors were floating around about Suresh Raina getting released from CSK and as a matter of fact, Suresh Raina's name was removed from the official CSK website during IPL which instilled more doubts in the minds of the fans.

The latest news being that Suresh Raina will stay with the prestigious franchise in CSK for 2021 as said by a top CSK official to Mirror

He will be with us. There are no plans to part with him.

Who is the Best Test Batsman?

The southpaw is known as Mr.IPL for his consistency at the top of the order. He has scored over 4500 runs in IPL to go with 3 IPL titles. CSK dearly missed his presence as their batting unit became a tad one dimensional without a left hand batsman at the top of the order. MS Dhoni even tried Sam Curran as an opener towards the end of the league but it wasn’t enough for them to make the playoffs bus.

Will Suresh Raina to play SMAT?

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy starts on 10th of January in India where players will have the chance to showcase their skills which might fetch them an IPL contract later that year.

Suresh Raina hasn’t played a competitive game for long and it is expected that the southpaw will play for his state team Uttar Pradesh to gain some match practice before the start of the IPL.
