The T20 World Cup 2022 is getting close day by day. Teams have started to announce their squad for the marquee tournament and so far Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and the Netherlands are teams who have announced their teams. However, many are waiting for the Indian squad to be named and it is likely that BCCI will announce the team in a few days.

In the latest development, as per the reports in Insidesports, pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel have passed the fitness test at the NCA and have been declared fit for selection in the team.

Both Bumrah and Harshal suffered injuries a few months ago and were ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022. They both will now be in contention for the selection in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2022, which is likely to be announced on the 15th or 16th September as per the reports.
It is also learned that both Bumrah and Harshal will be named in the squad for the T20I series against Australia and South Africa at home and their progress will be monitored by the selectors.
Bumrah and Harshal were a massive miss for India in the Asia Cup 2022. In the absence, India’s pace bowling struggled a lot as they leaked runs at both death as well as in power play. It was one of the main reason behind their early exit from the tournament.

Reports also suggested selectors are now concerned about the fitness of Ravindra Jadeja, who underwent a successful knee injury a few days ago. They also were furious at the team management and the all-rounder for how he got injured.
It was learned that the southpaw twisted his knee while doing a water adventure activity in Dubai during Asia Cup and was ruled out of the tournament. There’s no update as of now regarding the fitness of the all-rounder. It remains to be seen if he will make it into the squad for World Cup or not.
