T20 World Cup 2022: Predicted New Zealand Playing XI

New Zealand named their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia which is set to happen in October-November. New Zealand made the final of the previous edition of T20 world cup but couldn’t go past Australia in the final. They had made 2 consecutive finals in 2 ICC tournaments but ended up on the wrong side on both the occasions.

Finn Allen is all set to make his debut world cup appearance for NZ as an opener alongside Martin Guptill who will be playing his 7^th T20I world cup. Kane Williamson will be their #3 batsman. His form will be a big concern for them but he is a class player who can turn it around with the bat anytime soon as NZ have quite a few T20I matches including warmup games before their first world cup game against AUS in Sydney.

Trent Boult who recently asked for a release from the central contract finds a place in the team, the same goes with James Neesham who denied a central contract with the New Zealand cricket board.

Mitchell Santner will be their lead spinner, Michael Bracewell will complement Mitchell Santner in the spin bowling department. It is expected that NZ are set to play both Daryl Mitchell and James Neesham in the playing 11. They will have as much as 7 proper bowling options which is a luxury for any captain.
