Indian Cricket Team are currently preparing themselves for the T20 World Cup 2022. They arrived in Australia early to get used to conditions and had few quality net sessions as well. BCCI also a arranged two additional warmup games for them against Western Australia, outbid which they won one and lost one.

As India played two warmup games against Western Australia in Perth, almost every Indian batter had a decent time in the middle apart from star batter Virat Kohli. He was rested for the first game and it was expected that he’ll play second match but that wasn’t the case as he was again rested.
Now the reason behind him not playing the two warmup games has come forward. It is learned that team management wants to keep him fresh for the two upcoming warmup games and the tournament.
Although he wasn’t part of the playing XI but no one can keep him away from the game as he was seen fielding during the second warmup game. His videos of fielding at long on went viral on internet as many lauded him for his dedication.
Kohli is expected to play a crucial role for India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 as he has returned to the form after having a lean phase of nearly three years. He’ll be coming into the tournament on the back of good Asia Cup and series against Australia and South Africa.
T20 World Cup 2022: India lost the second warmup up game by 36 runs
India suffered a big 36-run loss in the second warmup game against Western Australia in Perth. Opting to bowl, a decent performances by R Ashwin 3/32, Harshal Patel 2/27, and Arshdeep Singh 1/25 helped India restrict the opposition to a total of 168/8.
Chasing the target, India lost wickets in clusters and failed to get going. Only skipper KL Rahul scored 74 runs but he also struggled in the start as the visitors suffered a 36-run defeat in the second game.
