Team India

Hardik Pandya- 2/10

Hardik

Hardik Pandya was India’s biggest disappointment in the ODI series. The flamboyant all-rounder failed to perform to his reputation and looked ordinary with both bat and ball. He failed to take bowlers to the cleaners with the bat and didn’t have much impact with the ball.

In the three games he played, the 27-year-old scored only 19 runs at an average of 9.5 and a strike rate of 95. With the ball, the Mumbai Indians all-rounder took only 2 wickets at an average of 48 and an economy of 6.92. Hardik Pandya’s form would be a major concern for Team India going ahead into the T20I series.

Krunal Pandya- 6/10

Krunal

In terms of economy rate, Krunal Pandya was the main bowler for Team India in the first two ODIs against Sri Lanka. Even though he took only one wicket in the two ODIs he played his economy rate of 3.5 was the standout feature of his bowling performance. His contribution of 35 runs with the bat in the second ODI turned out to be vital as the hosts tasted victory from the jaws of defeat.

Deepak Chahar- 7/10

Deepak

Deepak Chahar’s unbeaten 69 runs with the bat in the second game was the main highlight of the ODI series between Sri Lanka and India. Shikhar Dhawan-led side was on the verge of losing the second match but Chahar proved his mettle with the bat and took his team to a historic win. He also was a great asset with the ball throughout the series, showcasing his variations with the new ball and in the middle overs. He finished with four wickets at the economy rate of 6 in the two games he played.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar- 3/10

Bhuvi

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was rested in the third ODI against Sri Lanka. Even though he took three wickets in the first two games he looked ordinary with the ball, leaking runs at an economy rate of 6.15. With the bat, he scored unbeaten 19 runs in the second ODI and helped Deepak Chahar take India home.

Kuldeep Yadav- 6/10

Kuldeep

Despite having tough last few months, Kuldeep Yadav seemed to find his rhythm back. He had an impressive first game where he took two wickets and displayed great skills with the ball. Even though he went wicketless in the second ODI, he bowled fairly decently throughout.

Yuzvendra Chahal- 9/10

Chahal

Before the ODI series, Yuzvendra Chahal found himself under the firing line. He, however, replied to all the critics in the style with an impressive performance in the series. He was the pick of the bowlers and ended as the highest wicket-taker in the series with 5 wickets to his name. His returning to form was the biggest positive for Team India in the series.

Sanju Samson- 8/10

Sanju

Debuting for India in the third ODI, Sanju Samson was assured at the crease and struck five boundaries and one six. However, a careless shot in the 19th over ended his innings on 46 runs. The wicketkeeper-batsman failed to build on the impressive start he had, for which he is often criticised.

Nitish Rana- 2/10

Rana

Batting at No. 7 on debut, Nitish Rana looked unsettled and uneasy in the middle. He managed only 7 runs as a loose drive off Dananjaya saw him nick off. He also dropped a sitter in the deep.

Navdeep Saini- 3/10

Saini

Naveed Saini got a chance in the final ODI but he failed to cash the opportunity and went wicketless. He bowled five overs for 27 runs, but his vital 15 runs with the bat at the end of the Indian innings helped them get to a fighting total.

Krishnappa Gowtham- 5/10

Gowtham

Krishnappa Gowtham made his debut for Team India in the final ODI. Apart from the one wicket, he took he looked unsettled and struggled with his lines in the second innings.

Chetan Sakariya- 8/10

Chetan

Having being impressed everyone in the first phase of IPL 2021, Chetan Sakariya wasn’t effective with the new ball on his debut for Team India in ODIs but he showcased few variations in the middle overs to scalp two wickets and made his first game memorable one.

Rahul Chahar- 8.5/10
