Former Australian world cup winning captain Michael Clarke has been a part of some great Australian sides over the years while also competing with the best in his decade long cricketing career. In a recently conducted interview, Michael Clarke spoke about some of the best players that he’s competed with and against. From the seven names that the cricketer turned commentator gave away, two of the players were from India.

The two names from the subcontinent nation were that of the ‘Little Master,’ Sachin Tendulkar, while the other was of the modern day great, Virat Kohli.

Hardest batsman to dismiss

The great Sachin Tendulkar was one of the hardest batsman to bowl to according Clarke, as this is what he had to say.

Probably technically the best batsman I ever saw.
The hardest batsman to get out. I think Sachin, technically, didn’t have a weakness. Part of you hoped that he made a mistake, said Michael Clarke.

Best in the business

Michael Clarke was also in awe of the Indian captain Virat Kohli’s sheer dominance in across all formats.

I think right now the best batsman across all three formats.

His one day and twenty twenty records are phenomenal and he’s also found a way to dominate Test cricket. What Kohli and Tendulkar have in common is they love making big hundreds, said the ex-batsman.

Apart from Tendulkar and Kohli, Clarke labeled Brian Lara as his “favourite.” AB de Villiers was also on the list as the former Aussie captain hoped him be to back for South Africa one day.

When speaking about the best all-rounder of his time, Clarke didn’t hesitate in name Jacques Kallis as he more often than not was a force to be reckoned with versus Australia in his playing days.

Former Sri Lankan keeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara was regarded as as “phenomenal” and a “gentleman” of the game, whereas it was two time World Cup winning captain Ricky Ponting who Clarke considered as the “best Australian batsman” that he played with.
