Virat Kohli was in conversation with England legend Kevin Pietersen on Instagram live. Pietersen and Kohli began the chat by discussing the lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Pietersen asked the medias not to cut out any small portions from their conversation and make a news out of it. He said that it was just a casual conversation between two mates.

Quarantine days

On asked about how he is spending his time in quarantine, Virat replied that:

“We managed to get away to a farm just before the lockdown. There is some space here. It is heartbreaking to see. People are having a tough time,” Kohli said.

Pietersen then asked Kohli why the Royal Challengers Bangalore, a team that he too have captained before have never won the Indian Premier League and the Virat said that there are too many big names and it always comes with an added pressure.

“Big players in the team, there will be attention on the team. With big players, we will always be in the focus. We have reached 3 finals, not won, but then, those things are irrelevant, until you win the title. Even with the best team, we have not won. There is a team goal, we deserve to win the title,” Kohli said.

“I think the more you try to do something, it tends to move away from you. I think we need to get the joy back into the team and not try and look to set goals,” Kohli added.

This year’s Indian Premier League has been postponed for April 15, but with the current scenario in the country, that too doesn’t seems to happen. Not just IPL, all sporting leagues across the globe have been cancelled.

Kohli answers his fans

In the end, Kohli answered some questions from the fans on social media and picked Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi as his favourite footballer because of his work ethics and drive.

Kohli added that he will never shave as he doesn’t look good without a beard. To which Pietersen mocked him by calling him ‘cheeku’ due to his big cheeks. Few days before David Warner had challenged Virat to shave his head. But Virat didn’t respond to it.

Virat Kohli’s best cricketing memory is India winning the 2011 ICC World Cup and golf is the one sport that he will never play.
