India, once was a country with just a handful of pacers who could bowl north of 140. This was the case even 7 to 8 years back. Ever since MS Dhoni stepped down from captaincy in the test cricket, the then Indian captain Virat Kohli brought a fitness culture like never before and made sure that there is a lot of scope for faster bowlers in the Indian team if they are fit and ready to give their everything which was missing under the previous management.
As a result, a lot of fast bowlers started emerging from various parts of the country, and India have surplus amount of pacers who could bowl north of 140 consistently, and some, who could even bowl north of 150 at the moment.

Umran Malik bowled fastest ball in IPL 2022
Umran Malik was retained under the uncapped category by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the mega auction. They are certainly reaping rewards for that bold move. Umran Malik is absolutely terrorizing the batters with some raw pace like a never seen before phenomenon. He is consistently bowling 145mph plus in this season and the role clarity he has been given by the SRH management is something that’s worth mentioning as well.
Umran Malik is not a new ball bowler who could swing the ball and with the pace he is bowling, all the batsmen need to do is just place the ball in the gap, with field restrictions on, should be easy runs. He is still a newbie to be bowling at death overs and hence SRH have made him a middle overs enforcer which has turned out to be an absolute masterclass by them.
Umran Malik has bowled 31 overs from overs 7 to 16 in this season, grabbing 12 wickets at an economy rate of 8.32. He has been a nightmare to the opposition batsmen at this phase of the innings. He surpassed Lockie Ferguson as the fastest bowler in this particular edition, in yesterday’s game against CSK when he bowled a ball that read 154 kmph to MS Dhoni.
