While the fight was on for India, England’s Adil Rashid was able to produce what many are calling a ‘Shane Warne-like’ delivery that got KL Rahul out for 149. This resulted in India going down by 118 runs and the final match of the series being won by England making the series score 4-1.
It was Rahul and Rishabh Pant who were trying their best to keep India afloat. Unfortunately for Rahul, Rashid threw him an exceptional ball that ended his play. The delivery by Rashid spun 10 degrees and took the wicket in the first ball of the 82nd over.
Many people watching the match have been calling this wicket the ‘ball of the 21st century’ as it reminded fans of Shane Warne’s ball of the century at Old Trafford in 1993 to Mike Gatting.
The mammoth score India was after was 464 and Rahul and Pant’s centuries gave India hope. Rahul had scored 149 off 224 balls and Pant had scored 114 off 146 balls. Unfortunately, Rashid’s 2/63 in 15 overs destroyed their hopes.
